The Packet Ship Professional Services team offer bespoke design and development of software and systems, making use of Packet Ship's standard product lines where possible, but with the option of creating significant new technology IPR for the customer where required.

We have a wide range of skills in creating digital media products and services, from top-level system architectures and high-performance back-end servers to TV-based graphic design. Our primary goal in offering this service is to enable our partners to create and deliver their products or services to market quickly and successfully.

Technologies

Packet Ship has in-house expertise in C++, C, Java, PHP, Javascript and Unix scripting, primarily on Linux, either server or embedded. We have a deep understanding of digital media, IP networking, set-top boxes and high-performance server systems.

Packet Ship has made a major investment in software infrastructure - libraries, build systems and development processes - for creating our own product lines and this allows us to create new technologies quickly and reliably.

Recent projects

carrot.org: Large scale anti-spam and micropayments system with major back-end server infrastructure, custom network protocols and Java-based e-commerce Website.

O2 Arena: Requirements capture, architectural design, network design and specification and customisation of our Sightline display controller and Streamline video server for a network of over 200 televisions with Philips NetX cards, offering multicast IPTV and scheduled VOD.
